Recording & the meeting bot
Three ways to capture a call, and how to make sure the bot gets in.
Noots captures meetings so nobody has to take notes. There are three routes in:
- Send the bot — paste a meeting link (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams) and Noots dispatches a bot that joins the call as a visible participant.
- Calls started inside Noots — the in-house bot joins your own calls and records them.
- Record from the browser — the Recording tab captures straight from your machine, no bot required.
Recording in the browser
Start recording → Stop → Record again, with a live timer and an optional title. Audio is written in five-second chunks, so a backgrounded or accidentally closed tab doesn't lose the whole session, and you get a browser warning before navigating away mid-recording.
Save to Vault files the meeting where you'll find it later. Pressing it twice is safe, and it offers Open in Vault afterwards.
- Default
- Nothing is recorded until you send the bot, start a recording, or turn on calendar auto-join.
- Bot presence
- The bot appears in the participant list, so a call is never captured silently.
- One bot per meeting
- Only the inviter's bot joins — you never end up with two recorders in the room.
- Recording length
- Capped per plan: 40 minutes on Free, 5 hours on Team, 10 on Business.
Waiting rooms and host approval still apply — if the bot is stuck waiting, a host has to admit it. See Troubleshooting → The bot didn't join.
Which platforms work?
Paste a link from Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams and the bot joins as a participant. Calls started inside Noots are recorded by the in-house bot.
Will people know they're being recorded?
Yes — the bot shows in the participant list like any other attendee, and calls in Noots show a REC indicator.
Can I record automatically?
Connect your calendar and turn on auto-join and Noots sends the bot to your scheduled calls. It stays off until you enable it.
